Site Branding Ideas

Attached are some ideas for site branding.  Let me know what you think.

The focus of the Toronto SharePoint Camp 2011 is “SharePoint and Community”.  Branding should extend to conference tracks so that each track has its own icon or identity.  The branding style that we choose for the web site could be carried over to other conference materials such as signs, speaker bios, and promotional materials.

Sylvia, I looked at the pdf document you uploaded. Personally I feel that the campsite theme is a great idea. It definitely is the most imginative of all options in my opinion. Having said that how much of it can we translate for a live site without losing track of the main purpose. My only concerns is the timeline. If we can have this theme without affecting the timeline of mid august, then by all means. We should also restrict the work to main website logo and graphics for the sessions headings... What say?

Hi Jaideep,

I think all of the design themes would be straightforward to implement. How fancy we get depends on the abilities of our site developers. I agree that we should start with a razzle-dazzle home page and then add more design elements as time permits.

It should be pretty simple to put a graphic header block at the top of the home page with the event name, date and location.  I'd also like to see a box for each event track (IT Pro, Dev & Business) where we could display the track name, an icon for that track and give a brief description. Then we could add the track icon to the page of each session to show what track they belong.

I'm also thinking that it would not be too difficult to add a graphic header to each site area (agenda, sessions, travel, sponsors, discussion, etc.)

Sylvia, I Agree.

I liked the campsite theme of all. I'm excited and looking forward to see the visual going forward.
